This project was completed by my
students at Soledad Enrichment Action Charter High School Girls
Academy in November of 2007. Each of the 40 triangles features a
math or ELD topic that relates to triangles. Some of these topics
are the Bermuda Triangle, Pascal's Triangle, congruence, similarity,
area, perimeter, surface area, rigid figures, sum of interior angles,
area of the base, etymology of "equilateral," and research
on "geodesic." The hardest part of this project was connecting
the rods properly so that the entire dome did not collapse. To be
safe, we actually have two sticks supporting the dome from
underneath!
