Dear YES Mag,
My fifth grade class has been studying structures in science. We
visited the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C. where we
made a geodesic dome with plastic pipes and clothesline. We enjoyed
that so much that when we found the plans for the geodesic playhouse
we had to try it out! The class worked in six teams to roll the
tubes. Then, we all worked together to assemble it. We were so proud
of our dome that the principal let us display it in the front hallway.
I will definitely do this project again next year!
Sincerely,
Dawn Hester
