Rules and Regulations

1. The YES Mag Win A Mountain Bike Contest (“Contest”) commences at 9:00 a.m. (PDT) on June 24, 2009, and concludes at 4:00 p.m. (PDT) on October 30, 2009 (“Contest Period”).

2. No purchase necessary.

3. To enter, you must answer the following question in no more than 250 words: “How do bikes benefit you, your community, and/or the world.” To enter, you must fill out the entry form at www.yesmag.ca/bike during the Contest Period. All submissions must be received during the Contest Period. Your entry will be disqualified if it does not meet the Contest requirements or if it is received after October 30, 2009.

4. Only one entry per person. This Contest is open to Canadian residents of the age of 16 and under (age as of beginning of Contest Period), excluding residents of Quebec, employees of Peter Piper Publishing Inc. and Norco, and any persons residing in their respective households.

5. Prizes: 3 entries will be selected at random.

  • The first prize winner will receive one Norco Wolverine mountain bike, approximate retail value $800. The bike will be delivered to the nearest authorized Norco dealer to the winner’s residence. The winner is solely responsible for picking up the bike at the nearest retail location within six (6) weeks from the date the bike is delivered to the dealer. Should the winner fail to take possession during this time, the Prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate entrant.
  • The second prize winner will receive one Mace Hornet Helmet, approximate retail value $120.
  • The third prize winner will receive one pair of Mace Foundation Gloves, approximate retail value $27.

6. A random draw held at the YES Mag offices on November 2, 2009 will determine the winners. Odds of winning depend upon the number of valid entries received. Winners will be announced on the contest web site (www.yesmag.ca/bike) on November 3, 2009. Winners will also be notified by mail following the draw. The prize package must be accepted as awarded. No portion of the prize is transferable. The prize is not redeemable for cash and no substitute for any portion of the prize is offered. No telephone contact or other correspondence will be entered into except with the winning entrant(s).

7. By entering this Contest, the entrant confirms that he or she has read and understood and accepted these Contest rules and regulations. Interpretation of these rules by Peter Piper Publishing Inc management shall be final. Entrants and their parents (or legal guardian) hereby release, indemnify and hold harmless Peter Piper Publishing Inc and Norco, their agents and/or suppliers of service, and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees, agents and their respective advertising and promotional agencies and all others associated with the execution of this Contest (collectively “Releasees”) from any and all liability with respect to or in any way arising in connection with this Contest, including without limitation any financial, legal or moral responsibility or loss or personal injury, including death suffered or arising from the acceptance of the Prize(s) as awarded and confirming compliance with contest rules, whether suffered by the Contest entrant, prize winner, or his/her heirs, administrators, personal representatives or executors and notwithstanding that such injuries or losses may have been caused solely or partly by any act, omission or negligence of the Releasees.

8. All entries shall become the property of Peter Piper Publishing Inc and the respective sponsors, promoters and their advertising and promotional agencies and will not be returned. Releasees assume no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, illegible or misdirected entries or for any failure or technical malfunction of the telephone lines/access providers, servers, computer equipment, electronic mail or human error during the Contest Period. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are mechanically reproduced, falsified, altered or tampered with in anyway, unintelligible or if a contestant is subsequently found to be ineligible under or non-compliant with the Contest Rules. All entrants agree to abide by the Contest Rules, which are final.

9. By entering the Contest, each entrant, on the condition they become a prize winner, consents to the use of their name and city of residence for any publicity and programming purposes, commercial or otherwise, in all media used by Peter Piper Publishing Inc their respective sponsors, promoters and their advertising and promotional agencies, without any payment or compensation. Prize winners agree to sign a waiver and release to this effect and further agree that their name, city of residence may be posted on the YES Mag Web site with no additional payment to the entrant other than the “prize”.

10. Peter Piper Publishing Inc and the respective sponsors, promoters and their advertising and promotional agencies reserve the right to substitute prizes and any component of the prize for those of approximately the same retail value and reserve the right to terminate or withdraw this Contest at any time, without prior notice. Releasees are not responsible for any damage, loss, inconvenience or injury suffered by the entrants or prize winners due to any changes, substitution, rescheduling, or for any reason whatsoever.

11. Information collected (e.g., e-mail address, name, city, telephone number) in conjunction with this Contest will be used exclusively for the purpose of contacting the prize winners. No correspondence will take place between Peter Piper Publishing Inc. and/or its agencies or sponsors and Contest entrants except as it may relate to the Contest and in the case of prize winners as a result of entering the Contest.

12. This Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations of Canada and British Columbia respectively.
